An overture to this year’s 46th Varaždin Baroque Evenings will be 21st International Flower Show, organized by Gardeners’ Association of Varaždin County. It opens tomorrow, on September 22. The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Baroque-Music-Flowers”. As the gardeners and florists are trying to combine the sub-theme with the partner country of VBE, this year’s sub-theme will be “Flower Flamenco”. At the exhibition, thanks to the partnership with Spain and great effort of the Embassy of Spain in the Republic of Croatia, Spanish florist – Alex Segura Arana will present himself. Besides him, there will be some florists from Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia and Croatia.

“We have prepared a variety of content, the guests are coming from seven countries, and we are going to hold 10th jubilee competition in florists, for which the students have prepared a “floral explosion” for Spain. They shall work on some flower pictures, while the other florists and companies will try to promote Spanish culture by demonstrating their vision of Spain in flowers. I feel gratitude towards the Embassy of Spain for sponsoring the arrival of florists from their homeland, because now will we have the ability to see here how they work and how it looks like. Our exhibition is composed of three parts: exhibition, sale and presentations. We invite our citizens to visit our Saturday’s presentation, which we have prepared for them. Furthermore, we have organized free floral workshop on the World Day of Grandparents. Just like them, we invite their grandchildren to come to meet us at the Square of Miljenko Stančić, so we could play with flowers and spread the culture of giving the flowers”, announced Blanka Pazman, the president of Gardeners’ Association of Varaždin County, the organizer of the exhibition. The floral rhapsody begins tomorrow at 5 p. m. in the atrium of the Old Town. The visitors will have the possibility to see the floral installations until September 25. The ticket price for groups is 5 HRK, for individuals 10 HRK.
