Fandango, Art Ray Izumi, after Rubio

Tutu Aydınoğlu is a concert pianist and professor at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University. At the core of her pianistic repertoire and academic interests is forgotten and neglected music. In this sense, she is dedicated to performing works that have not yet been performed in her homeland, as well as exploring the influence of her own musical tradition on Western music, and researching and presenting forgotten works of Turkish music to a broader musical audience. So she premiered Respighi’s Concerto in modo misolidio with the Bosphorus Philharmonic Orchestra in the Istanbul Congress Center. She has also conceived and carried out the projects Ottoman Traces in Western Music and One Nation, Two States, which garnered significant public interest. As part of the One Nation, Two States project, she also performed the Piano Concerto on Arabian Themes by Fikret Amirov/Elmira Nazirova at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. The interest in Turkish artistic music led to her latest major project – in 2021, she performed Ekrem Zeki Un’s Piano Concerto with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra. The composer dedicated this piece to his wife, and it hadn’t been performed since its premiere 50 years ago.
As an educator, she often holds master workshops both in her home country and abroad. As a soloist, she has also performed with the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra and the Eskisehir Symphony Orchestra.
