After Span, the partner country of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings is Hungary

Raymond Rojnik, the director of the Concert Agency Varaždin, met last night in Zagreb with István Íjgyárt, the state secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, at the opening of the exhibition of a French photographer Jean-Pierre Pedrazzini, who dedicated himself to everyday life and events in Budapest during the revolution and the fight for freedom in 1956. Along with József Zoltán Magyar, the Hungarian Ambassador in Croatia, and Dinko Šokčević, the director of the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb, Rojnik has talked about finalizing the partnership with Hungary for the next year’s 47th Varaždin Baroque Evenings. The partnership was accepted in Hungary with great approval, so the preparations for the next year’s Festival are already in progress.

“It is a great honor to be able to listen to Pannon Philharmonic from Pécs, the European Capital of Culture, at the opening of 47th Varaždin Baroque Evenings. It will be our honor to meet Hungarian musicians and completely different Baroque music than this years. I believe the audience will be satisfied with what we are already preparing for the next year’s Festival. I thank the Hungarian Embassy and the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb, whose leading garniture are giving a great support and help with this new partnership and I have no doubt that our festival audience is going to be pleasantly surprised by concerts and accompanying events in autumn 2017, said Rojnik after the meeting in the Hungarian Institute. As a reminder, the Varaždin Baroque Evenings begin tomorrow in the Varaždin Cathedral at 8 p.m. This year’s partner country is Spain.
