Traditional Concert by the Students of the Varaždin School of Music and the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra

Since its foundation, the Varaždin School of Music has held an important role in the musical and cultural life of the city and the wider region. Established almost two centuries ago as a small municipal school, today it stands as one of the key centres of music education in Croatia. With more than 900 students, including international attendees, the School extends its influence far beyond Varaždin and Varaždin County, shaping generations of young musicians across north-western Croatia.
As part of the 56th Varaždin Baroque Evenings, the students of the Varaždin School of Music will once again have the opportunity to present their artistry to the festival audience. The traditional concert with the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra continues the long-standing collaboration between the Festival and one of the oldest music schools in this part of Europe. What makes this event truly remarkable is the fact that it is young talents who have the honour of concluding such a distinguished and internationally renowned festival – an occurrence almost unique on the world’s festival scene.
The concert will feature students of both primary and secondary levels, soloists as well as chamber ensembles, showcasing the richness and diversity of all departments of the Varaždin School of Music. In doing so, they reaffirm not only the lasting value of this institution in the education of young musicians, but also its inseparable bond with the Varaždin Baroque Evenings Festival.
