Cantores Sancti Marci, officially the Oratory Choir of the Church of St. Marko in Zagreb, is a Croatian church choir from Zagreb, also the parish choir of the church of St. Brand.
It was founded in 1988. By the end of March 2014, they had more than 2,500 concerts. The choir was founded at the instigation of Neven Valent (1964-2012). The choir continues the tradition of the Oratory Choir of the Church of St. Mark and was founded in 1920, while their activities were terminated in 1946. The choir was conducted by famous Croatian conductors Vladimir Kranjčević, Ivan Repušić, Tomislav Fačini, Franjo Dugan senior and Mladen Pozajić. From the beginning of 2011, the leadership of the Oratory Choir was taken over by prof. Jurica Petar Petrač.
In 2015, at the Festivals of Joyful Culture, they were named the best church choir in Southeast Europe. In the following academic years, they held notable concerts with the Zagreb Philharmonic, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble and the Zagreb Soloists.
At the 3rd European Choir Games 2017 in Riga, Latvia, they won first prizes in both competition categories. In the category of sacral music (Musica sacra), they performed one movement from the oratorio by Antun Tomislav Šaban “Golgotha”, set to music by Silvio Strahimir Kranjčević, as well as the compositions “Gaude Virgo, Mater Christi” and “Nunc digitis” in Latin, “Abendlied” in German and “Precious lord” in English. In the category of adult choirs, they performed five other compositions, two of which were by Croatian composers: “Crn bel” by Igor Kuljerić and “Vokalmusik” by A. T. Šaban.
