Anabela Barić graduated in singing from the University of Zagreb Academy of Music, where she studied with Giorgio Surian. She also holds a degree in Classical Archaeology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Since 2015, she has performed with the vocal ensemble Antiphonus, both as an ensemble member and a soloist, and since 2016 she has collaborated regularly with the Croatian Baroque Ensemble and the Croatian Radiotelevision Choir. In joint productions of the Academy of Music and the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, she has performed a number of operatic roles: Monsieur Rideau in the world premiere of Boris Papandopulo’s Madame Buffault (2015), Poppea in Handel’s Agrippina (2016), the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen (2017), and Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte (2018). She made her debut at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb in 2016 as Barbarina in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and returned as Papagena in The Magic Flute in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra in Mozart’s Coronation Mass at the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik, given a solo concert with the Doha Baroque Ensemble in Qatar, and performed with the Croatian Baroque Ensemble at the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk festival in Austria. She was a prizewinner at the Premio Fatima Terzo competition, specialising in Baroque singing, which led to performances with the ensemble I Musicali Affetti in Modena and Vicenza in 2018. She has appeared as a soloist at festivals including Korkyra Baroque, the Lubenice Music Evenings, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Samobor Music Autumn and the Varaždin Baroque Evenings. Since 2022, she has collaborated with the renowned Belgian ensemble Vox Luminis, performing with them in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland. In the 2023/24 season, she was selected as one of eight singers to collaborate with the vocal ensemble VOCES8, with whom she performed at Milton Abbey in the United Kingdom. She is a soloist with the Croatian Radiotelevision Choir, with which she performs regularly in Croatia and abroad.
Izidor Erazem Grafenauer is a Slovenian musician and teacher whose work encompasses solo and chamber performance, historically informed performance, contemporary music, original projects, research and teaching. As a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, he has appeared at festivals and concert venues throughout Europe and in North and South America. He has also performed and recorded as a soloist with orchestras including the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Stretto Chamber String Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Chamber Orchestra, Musica Viva and La Voce Strumentale. His repertoire ranges from Renaissance and Baroque music to contemporary works, and his projects often bring historical instruments and performance practices into dialogue with contemporary artistic expression, improvisation, electroacoustics, movement and literature. His discography includes the solo album Preludio (Divya Records, 2018), devoted to Baroque repertoire; the anthology Dela slovenskih skladateljev (Baros Records, 2019), featuring contemporary Slovenian music; and XyloCorda (ZKP RTV, 2022), created in collaboration with percussionist Petra Vidmar and exploring the sonic relationship between plucked and percussion instruments. His album of original music, Ventana abierta (Celinka, 2023), brings together elements of flamenco, jazz, classical and contemporary music. Grafenauer is Assistant Professor of Chamber Music and Historical Plucked Instruments at the Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana. He regularly collaborates with international institutions, gives masterclasses and participates in mobility and exchange projects. He is also actively involved in organising musical events. He is artistic director of the international concert series Rasgueado Ljubljana, the international Ljubljana Guitar Festival and the Kit-Ara chamber music series, through which he presents Slovenian and international artists and fosters international artistic collaboration.
