About

Based in Barcelona, the early music ensemble Le Tendre Amour is directed and organized by Katy Elkin and Esteban Mazer. The ensemble has performed hundreds of concerts throughout Europe and the USA in the most prestigious early music festivals and concert seasons. They were twice awarded the Jurica Murai and Ivan Lukacic prize for best interpretation and best concert in the Varazdin Baroque festival, Croatia, and were commissioned by the Le Musée d’art et d’histoire du Judaïsme in Paris for a unique production of the chamber opera Esther. Le Tendre Amour was awarded “ensemble in residence” for three years in the Brezice festival in Slovenia. Their latest chamber opera productions include Le Devin du Village, La Serva Padrona, Los Elementos, and 40 concerts of Don Quichotte chez la Duchesse, a production that combined theater, circus, and baroque music in the Biennale de Bron (Lyon, France). Le Tendre Amour has also created, together with stage director A. Schvarzstein, a show of baroque music and circus called Seasons in the Cirque du Noel (Graz, Austria) with 24 sold-out concerts. Their latest production is The Tempest, where Shakespeare´s classic work is brought to life with original music and theatre.  Le Tendre Amour records for the labels Brilliant Classics and K617, and has recorded live for the national radios in Catalunya, Slovenia, Holland, and Croatia.
